Tarot Cards of Life: The Mortals $40
2nd edition of 50 (original series gouache on paper)

Each day the sun rises, time transpires, a storm may pass, and life goes on. Or not. In this series of paintings, The Tarot Cards of Life: The Mortals identifies and highlights disparate moments in a lifetime--either poignant or banal. This work is about time and place, the unpredictable, the precarious and the repetitive. Each card or image in this series represents a specific event or archetypical phase we pass through in life. I am interested in the simultaneity and randomness of milestones as well as those unspectacular instances in between. I find it fascinating how we unconsciously repeat roles and cycles of enduring love and connection.    - Andrea Borsuk

Borsuk is also creating an interactive Los Gatos history and art installation titled,  A Visible Journey in Time: The Los Gatos History Project. The first phase of this multi-phased project presents a distinctive landscape wall mural that charts a course through the Santa Cruz Mountains to Los Gatos and explores the characteristics of our town.  The next phase of the project is scheduled to open in 2017 and will highlight the story of Eastfield Ming Quong (EMQ). Borsuk will continue the history and art installation by creating additional wall murals to become the foundation of the permanent Los Gatos history collection at NUMU, illustrating the changing landscape and history of Los Gatos. These murals will lead the viewers through time and place, incorporating historical artifacts from the museum’s permanent collection. For more information about the artist: www.andreaborsuk.com
