Start a conversation about Art and History and become a NUMU Docent!
A docent is a volunteer in the Museum’s Education Department who conducts tours and special programs for visitors. Docents at NUMU contribute time, energy and ideas to make the art and history within the exhibitions accessible, understandable and rewarding to Museum visitors. By creating a dialogue with the visitors, docents stimulate observation, speculation, possibility and connection.
Ages 18 and up welcome. Previous art or history experience is not necessary, but always appreciated. Ongoing training sessions and continuing education opportunities are provided. Weekday, weekend and evening volunteer times are available.
Thank you for your interest in our docent program. NUMU is currently accepting docent applications. For more information please contact our Education and Programs Manager, Madeleine Crow, at: 408.354.2646 or by email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
