GIRL SCOUTS BADGE PROGRAM

Girl Scouts of Northern CA Exclusive Partner Program

NUMU Partners with Girl Scouts of Northern California to offer Arts-Based Badge Programs on weekends. NUMU is currently offering programs for Brownies Painting Badge and Juniors Drawing Badge, see details below. Each Badge Workshop includes a tour of an exhibition in conjunction with the arts-based activity to earn the badge.

Girl Scouts will have fun looking at, talking about, and making art with our inventive museum educators and artists. Our Girl Scouts workshops introduce techniques that teach participants to express themselves and explore their world--with art!

Our Girl Scouts Program is currently on hold and will be made available soon.

Please sign up for our newsletter to keep up to date when the program resumes, and reach out if you're interested in booking a program and we can add you to our waitlist.

Brownies Painting Badge

Artists take what they see and make it beautiful. Learn to paint and color your world in super strokes!

Brownies, become a master painter at NUMU! Tour the art galleries for ideas, find out how colors make you feel and end the workshop by painting it up in our MakerSpace studio.

In this program, Girl Scouts will:

  1. Get inspired

  2. Paint the real world

  3. Paint a mood

  4. Paint without brushes

  5. Paint a mural

Program Purpose
When I’ve earned this badge, I’ll have new ideas about what to paint—and how to paint it!

Juniors Drawing Badge

When you pick up your pencil, anything could leap from your mind onto a sheet of paper. That’s what makes drawing so fun.

In this badge, you’ll find techniques to make your drawings even better—which will make it more fun to see what your imagination can do. Draw it out at New Museum Los Gatos. Our drawing badge workshop helps Junior Girl Scouts learn the basics of drawing, explore different drawing tools, and discover a little bit about graphic design! Complete the experience by creating your own masterpiece downstairs in our MakerSpace Studio.

In this program, Girl Scouts will:

  1. Experiment with different materials

  2. Learn how to add shading

  3. Get some perspective

  4. Use your imagination like a graphic artist

  5. Make your masterpiece—and show it off!

Program Purpose
When I’ve earned this badge, I’ll know some great drawing techniques!
