Et in Arcadia Ego Exhibition Catalog
$15 excludes tax and shipping
Inspired by the 17th century Nicolas Poussin painting of the same name, Et in Arcadia Ego is translated to mean: “Even in Arcadia, there am I,” alluding to the inevitable impermanence of the ideal. For this exhibit, Molesky has selected significant historical pastoral paintings from private collections, placing them along side contemporary works that focus on our collective and continued fascination and pursuit of the unspoiled and the harmonious.
Highlights include a painting never before exhibited attributed to the brilliant French Baroque painter referenced in the title, Nicolas Poussin. Other highlights are Early California works from the renowned collection of Dr. Donald Head and contemporary works by artists such as David Ligare, Odd Nerdrum and Julie Heffernan.
