New Museum Los Gatos is Complete(ly) Open!

After being open for 50 years in two small locations, New Museum Los Gatos (NUMU) expanded and integrated, opening to the public on June 6, 2015. After a few short months we have finished our construction project and the final phase of the museum buildout is complete! Our new History Floor will focus on Los Gatos and regional topics that showcase the people, places and things that make our area so unique.

Join us for a trip down memory lane with: It Takes a Village: A Trip Back in Time to Frontier Village, Santa's Village & Lost World. See what Los Gatos was like the year it incorporated, 1887 and learn the story of Billy Jones and Walt Disney. The History Floor also houses the NUMU Studio which is home to both the MakerSpace and Atelier which will also be open to the public for the very first time!

As a part of the festivities, Cheryl Bacon, one-time Guinness Book World Record holder for largest lasso, and former employee of Frontier Village, will be performing. The Fall Guys, the Frontier Village gunfighters, will also join us for some action, weather permitting. Commemorative Frontier Village T-shirts ($20) and coloring books ($6) will be available for sale at the Admissions Desk and in our online NUMU Museum Store. Guests will have a chance to meet the former owner and employees of Frontier Village, as well as the son of the creator of Lost World, in Scotts Valley.
