NUMU partners with Girl Scouts of Northern California to offer arts-based badge programs for Brownies & Juniors. NUMU is currently offering programs a Painting Badge for Brownies and a Drawing Badge for Juniors, see details below. Each program includes exploring the museum and an arts-based activity to earn the badge. Girl Scouts will have fun looking at, talking about, and making art with our inventive museum educators and artists.

Ticket cost includes
Museum Admission for the day for participating Girl Scout + one parent
Each additional accompanying adult receives 50% off discounted museum admission for the day
$5 of each ticket goes to Girl Scouts of Northern California
All sales final. If a Girl Scout cannot attend, they have a one-time option to transfer into a different session of the same value. The request must be received in writing a week prior to the program date and emailed to workshops@numulosgatos.org
A minimum of 8 Girl Scouts is required to host the program. If the minimum is not met one week prior to program date, it may be cancelled and the purchaser will be promptly notified and refunded.
Drop-ins may buy tickets at the front desk if there is space available. These events do sell out, so space is not guaranteed, and you are highly encouraged to pre-register.
Book a Private Badge Program
None of the upcoming public program days work for your troop? Book a private program!
Private programs cost $400 for up to 8 Girl Scouts. An additional $45 charge is added for each Girl Scout over the initial 8. Maximum of 16 Girl Scouts.
Chaperones receive free museum admission.
A $100 non-refundable deposit is required to secure the date & confirm your reservation. Remaining fees are due 2 weeks prior to the program date.
Cancellations made at least 2 weeks prior to the program are eligible for a partial refund (excluding the $100 deposit). All All cancellations and rescheduling requests must be submitted in writing to workshops@numulosgatos.org
1 reschedule is permitted if requested at least a week prior to the program date.
To request a private badge program, please fill out the form at least one month prior to your preferred date.

Troop leaders must provide enough adult chaperones to maintain Girl Scouts official ratio (1:6, with an additional adult chaperone for every additional 6 scouts)
There must be 2 chaperones (parents or troop leaders) present in the classroom at all times. Chaperones may take shifts and also enjoy exploring the museum galleries and lounge.
All adult chaperones must sign in at the front desk.
Parents/guardians are responsible for bringing scouts to and from events, bathroom escorts, and supervision while in the museum galleries.

Children will be working with art supplies and may get messy. Dress accordingly!

Learn about the art of bookmaking at NUMU! We will explore how books are made and try a variety of bookmaking techniques for ourselves. Girl Scout Cadettes will fold, stitch, staple, and experiment with bookmaking tools to make fun and functional books. We will use a variety of interesting papers and design our own marbled paper using shaving cream!
