In support of our exhibition Colors Lines | History of the Negro Baseball League, the NUMU Black Box will be screening a selection of baseball themed films. 

The Sandlot (1993) is American coming-of-age baseball film co-written and directed by David M. Evans. A new kid in town is taken under the wing of a young baseball prodigy and his team in this coming of age movie set in the summer of 1962. Together, they get themselves into many adventures involving rival teams, lifeguards, and a vicious dog.

Rating: PG Running Time: 1 hour 41 minutes Genres: Comedy, Family Drama.

Scotty Smalls (Tom Guiry) moves to a new neighborhood with his mom and stepdad, and wants to learn to play baseball. The neighborhood baseball guru Rodriguez (Mike Vitar) takes Smalls under his wing, and soon he's part of the local baseball buddies.
