We are proud to host the first Peace, Love + Art Benefit on November 15 at La Rinconada Country Club. The evening will feature a live art auction, dinner, an awards celebration, dancing, and fun! The theme is groovy ‘60s as we celebrate our 60th Anniversary.

Awards

The evening will also spotlight the recipients of NUMU’s 2025 Honorary Awards, which recognize community members with extraordinary contributions in art, history, and service:

  • Michael Parsons — 2025 Dr. Ethel Dana Achievement Award Recipient

  • Marie Cameron — 2025 Leona Award Recipient for Art

  • Alan Feinberg — 2025 Leo Award Recipient for History

The presented awards honor individuals who embody the spirit of NUMU’s mission and values. The Dr. Ethel Dana Achievement Award recognizes exceptional commitment to the museum and community, while the Leo and Leona Awards honor contributions to fostering the arts and preserving local history.

Michael Parsons with ArtNow 2025 Best in Show recipient Anisa Fitzgerald

Michael Parsons, a Monte Sereno resident, NUMU board alum, and former board president, guided the museum through its transition to the Civic Center and co-founded ArtNow, NUMU’s countywide student art exhibition. Along with his wife, Alyce, Parsons also established the Mike and Alyce Parsons Art Endowment to secure NUMU’s future.

Marie Cameron, an imaginative realist artist based in Los Gatos, is known for her evocative oil paintings, assemblages, embroidery, and exploration of humanity’s relationship with nature. Her work has been exhibited internationally, locally, and in 6 shows at NUMU. Most recently, she made 17 original works - historic postcards of Los Gatos embroidered with silk thread - to be gifted to our Director’s Circle members and accessioned into the museum’s collection.

Alan Feinberg is a longtime Los Gatos resident and amateur local historian known for his dedication to preserving and sharing our town's rich history. In 2015, he founded the "LOST Gatos Project" to generate awareness about the mostly forgotten people, places, and events that have shaped Los Gatos over the past 200 years. It features a free mobile app called “Discover Los Gatos", with three self-guided walking tours of our historic downtown. Alan has published over 40 stories on Los Gatos history in the Los Gatan, gives group tours and lectures, and serves on the town’s Historic Preservation Committee.
