Celebrate Earth Day and the value of re-use while exploring creativity in our Makerspace. You are invited to drop-in and create your own cork doll by using reclaimed wine corks, fabric scraps, yarn and markers to make a figure. This historic craft is rooted in the Victorian era when hobbyists sought ways to repurpose cork bark. One way was creating these playful dolls from the high-quality wine cork for gifts or collectables.
The Monthly Craft is a drop-in, self-led artmaking activity that complements NUMU’s current exhibitions or seasonal themes. Activities are designed for a wide range of participants. Guests under 18 must be accompanied by an adult. Please leave the space as you found it for others to enjoy.
