Time: Instruction is from 5:00PM - 7:30PM; you may begin to set up at 4:45PM
Location: Flick Studio inside New Museum Los Gatos (NUMU), 106 E Main St, Los Gatos, CA 95030
Skill Level: Great for beginners or anyone wishing to brush up on their figure drawing skills.
Age: 18+
Cost*: General Admission $35 | NUMU Members $30
Materials: Loose paper and graphite pencils provided by NUMU; student may bring materials of their choosing. Easels and art horses available.
Interested in trying figure drawing for the first time or brushing up on your skills? Join us for Live Figure Drawing and a glass of wine! Participants will reference a live model in various poses for different time periods. This class is uninstructed— the model will have a schedule of poses that they will go through for the entirety of the class.
This session will have a nude model.
Wine is for participants 21+

Cancellation policy: This workshop requires a minimum of six students. Bring your friends! NUMU will refund tuition in full should the museum cancel the class - participants will be informed the Tuesday before the workshop. No refunds for cancellations by participant with less than 2 days notification before class start time.
In accordance with the New Museum Los Gatos, masks are required while inside the museum. Masks are not required for participants that can show proof of their up-to-date* Covid vaccination.
Do not attend class if you are experiencing symptoms of COVID-19, or have been in close contact or tested positive within the past 10 days.
*Up-to-date with their vaccines, which includes booster doses at regular time points.

Treat yourself to art this October at NUMU by making paper slip pumpkins and marigold tissue garlands. Visit our MakerSpace to create your own pumpkin using silly scissors and slips of colorful paper. Then, make a hanging garland of marigolds from tissue paper and pipe cleaners. These crafts are perfect for the autumnal festivities.

Join us at NUMU to celebrate the opening of Community Ignition, a group exhibition showcasing how art is created in the Disability Arts Community: in communities, through conversation and support, through interdependence, and within systems of care. The concept of interdependence, or mutual reliance, celebrates asking for assistance and honors the collaboration that is often present in artistic practice. NUMU provides a venue for conversation and learning to shift perspectives and develop awareness of disability culture and artists with disabilities.
You will learn papier-mâché techniques and tips, explore materials, and create your own spooky or silly mask in this two-day workshop with artist Leyla Carleo.

NUMU has the sitch on the stitch with November’s monthly craft: woven burlap bookmarks! Enjoy being mindful while you stitch and weave yarn into your own patterned bookmark. If you need inspiration, check out the exhibition Los Gatos History Project in the History Hall and see the textile artistry of Rebecca Maria Baila née Bogni and her family’s historic seamstry practice.

In her presentation, Katherine will invite guests to explore notable figures in art history through a disability lens, highlighting details of artists’ lives that are often unaddressed in dominant art history discourse. Sherwood will also take time to discuss contemporary disability arts topics in this presentation. This event is a hybrid event. Guests can either attend in person or virtually. Share the care this February at NUMU with our monthly craft: strawberry gift boxes! You are invited to create your own gift box inspired by the vintage strawberry candy wrappers we all love. Learn about the art of bookmaking at NUMU! We will explore how books are made and try a variety of bookmaking techniques for ourselves. Girl Scout Cadettes will fold, stitch, staple, and experiment with bookmaking tools to make fun and functional books. We will use a variety of interesting papers and design our own marbled paper using shaving cream!
