Join NUMU this November for DIY drawstring pouches! Plan and cut the fabric. Then, learn how to create a running stitch to turn it into a sachet. This nifty craft brings together stitchery and utility. Use your pouch as a coin purse, dice bag, or gift bag. Afterwards, see the work of other fiber artists in NUMU’s newest exhibition, Stitches & Wiggles: Unraveled and Reimagined Mixed Media Art by Jody Alexander and Thomas Campbell, and learn how the two artists bring together their methods through patchwork.
Materials for this activity will be available during regular hours.

Girl Scouts will explore art and design through hands-on activities including painting, printmaking, and building. Brownies will explore NUMU’s galleries with a museum professional, experiment with line-making, printmaking techniques, and create their own painted portraits. Each Girl Scout will also design and build a custom frame to display their artwork. This engaging program is a fun experience you won’t want to miss!
