EVENT DETAILS:

Time 11 AM-2 PM
Location Santa Clara, CA
Reserved for Circle Members (Join the Circle)*
NUMU's Circle members are invited to join us for a visit to Santa Clara. First, we’ll stop by Obelisk Gallery, featuring art by Steve Dellicarpini and Joe Miller. Then, we’ll move to the Triton Museum of Art.
Joe Miller
Joe Miller is a designer, design educator, arts administrator, artist, poet, and spoken word performer. He is principal of Joe Miller’s Company, Senior Lecturer at SJSU, and is a locally recognized visual artist. Joe combines found, acquired, and artist-made objects with text and image, commenting on the place of the individual in our manufactured environment. Typographic voice is given to a range of objects, resulting in a conversation of forms that brushes aside distinctions between art, design, and poetry. Joe’s work has been published in dozens of books and respected publications, has received more than 130 regional to international awards, and has been included in dozens of exhibitions nationwide. In addition to many private collections, Joe’s work is in the permanent collections of the Triton Museum of Art, Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA), Denver Museum of Art, and is in the AIGA National Design Archives.
Oblelisk Gallery
Located in Santa Clara, CA, Obelisk Gallery is devoted to showcasing small-scale works that speak with intimacy, precision, and impact. We champion contemporary artists—emerging and established—whose practices explore bold ideas through modest formats. By creating a space where focused expression meets expansive thinking, we aim to foster meaningful connections between artists and the community.
Steve Dellicarpini
A lot of my work is an interpretation of imagery, objects, and experiences encountered during my travels. These interpretations can manifest in either fantastical or realistic ways. This process leads to wildly different pieces in a variety of materials. Recently, I have been casting in bronze and incorporating dissimilar metals to create contrast and interest. For me, sculpting is my souvenir, combining my experiences and memories of a time spent somewhere into a physical artifact.
Triton Museum of Art
For 60 years, the Triton Museum of Art has been a destination for the community, providing a venue where local artists exhibit their work alongside regional and national artists and where students of all ages learn about art and the creative process. Located across the street from the Santa Clara Civic Center, the Triton Museum of Art collects and exhibits contemporary and historical works with an emphasis on artists of the Greater Bay Area. Over 40,000 people attend the museum onsite annually through its exhibitions, education, and community programs, and over 90,000 people view the museum's satellite gallery and exhibitions annually.
This exclusive experience is offered to NUMU Circle Members and their guests—we hope you’ll join us for this art-filled adventure!
