Announcing Kimberly Snyder as Executive Director

On behalf of the NUMU Board of Directors, I am pleased to announce the appointment of Kimberly Snyder as NUMU's Executive Director. Kimberly has served the organization in various capacities for nearly a decade, and not only has deep institutional knowledge, but a great passion for the museum and the community we serve. In March of 2023, she was appointed Interim Executive Director.

During these past months, she has demonstrated exceptional leadership, keeping the museum on its upward trajectory. After deliberating with the NUMU board, staff, and internal stakeholders, it was a unanimous decision to offer the position to Kimberly. The timing is perfect for renewed leadership, as we are beginning to update our strategic plan.

This change in leadership comes after the successful two-year tenure of Executive Director Ami Davis, during which she guided our crucial DEAI efforts, amplified donor and foundational engagement, and tightened organizational systems. In the coming year, the NUMU team, led by Kimberly, will focus on advancing several important and exciting initiatives: opening the Collections Prep Lab, making the museum’s art and history collections accessible to the general public, celebrating the 13th anniversary of our popular and award-winning Santa Clara County High School Juried Art exhibition and educational program, ArtNow, and so much more.

Please join me in wishing Kimberly and the incredible NUMU team every success.

I want to thank you for supporting our museum. The individual and collective acts of dedication and care by our sponsors and community highlight the importance of NUMU as a cultural hub for all. I hope to see you soon at the intersection of art, history, and education.

Sincerely,

Jan Schwartz
President, Board of Directors
