ArtNow 2022: Annual Santa Clara County Juried High School Exhibition

  • NUMU New Museum Los Gatos 106 E. Main Street Los Gatos, CA 95030 United States (map)

Brave New Worlds marks 11 years of the ArtNow Annual Juried High School Exhibition and two years since the beginning of the global pandemic. As we all continue to push forward amidst an era of disharmony and disorder, NUMU prompted students to be bold in their visions of hope, equality, justice, and change. The artwork represented in this year’s exhibition highlights the capacity of youth to observe social changes at a deep individual and collective level.

This year, over 580 unique artwork entries were submitted by students, of which 79 are on view. These works represent students from 26 high schools across Santa Clara County, and  a diverse range of topics including the impact of technology on daily life, environmentalism, space exploration, freedom of gender expression, and political activism. Today’s youth are the builders and leaders of tomorrow. We hope that this year’s exhibition can inspire us all to dream of a brave new world.

 Theme: Brave New Worlds

You are the builders and leaders of tomorrow, and your actions today will shape our future. As we continue to grow from an era of disharmony and disorder as a result of the pandemic, political turmoil, and environmental crisis, you can be an agent of change. What is your vision of the world to come? Consider what we are growing towards; be bold in your visions of hope, equality, justice, and change.
